On-line cartoon in Korea is flourished with Web-toon. This on-line cartoon is attempted by different methods to be integrated or be transformed. Cartoon in rental libraries is advanced to on-line cartoon or Web-toon on the internet, then App-toon on Smart media. Due to appearance of convergence contents based on cartoon, various media are explosively increased.
The existing cartoon tends to become optimum customized cartoon through platform by advanced technology, so customized cartoon through platform will be continued for years ahead. This tendency can incite contents to be varied and produced by using platform. With this, new genre of cartoon will be created and there will be a trial which is integrated with various multi-media and developed. Also, cartoon related with technology by social network will be appeared and it will do a role as interactive media.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the tendency of convergence contents based on cartoon and to separate genres of convergence contents based on cartoon. Moreover, this study is supposed to propose a model of convergence based on Korean cartoon.
