In the research a computer program which enables automatic modeling of aircraft surface on a CAD system is developed, and it can also generate surface grids of triangular cells along the modeled aircraft surface. The program can be utilized as an efficient tool for modeling and modifying the aircraft configurations in the early stage of aircraft development process, and the resultant surface grids can be used in the analysis stage to follow. The triangular surface grids are automatically obtained by using the Octree triangular mesh generation option of CAD tool of the current research(CATIA), and the procedures from modeling of the aircraft to generating surface grids are tightly linked so that the whole process can be performed in the automatic fashion.
