『Ho-suh Sahak』 is published in 1972 and changed to 『History and Discourse』 in 2008. 509 papers is published in 『Ho-suh Sahak』 and ??History and Discourse』 from 1972 to 2011. Papers which is related to the western history were 138 articles and accounted for 27.1%. Considering papers which related to the western history in chronological order, 16 papers is published in 1970’s and 22 papers in 1980’s and 19 papers in 1990’s and 52 papers in 2008’s and 28 papers in 2011’s.
According to the chronological development of papers, 1970’s is a time of the connectivity of politics and thought and 1980’s is a time of diversity and equilibrium and 1990’s is a time of the unequal distribution of the modern history and the absence of the medieval history and 2000’s is a time of the quantum leap of the ancient history and the contemporary history. The fact that left much to be desired from 1970’s to 2000’s is the production of research in the western medieval history and the historiographic theory. 12 papers which is related to the western medieval history is published and 17 papers which is related to the historiographic theory is published in 『Ho-suh Sahak』 and 『History and Discourse』, and the promotion of study is urgently needed in the western medieval history and the historiographic theory. This situation is the most important problem that the Korean Society for Western History has to solve.
