The Annals of the Joseon Dynasty is regarded as a crucial data about study of paleoclimate of the Korean Peninsula. But it has limits on confidence as it was affected by chronicler"s view. One example is deviation of records of phenomena in heavens and natural calamities during the regin of Mungong and Sejo. It seems the deviation is resulted from different political views of Munjong who rose to the throne normally and Sejo who usurp the throne. Therefore, special cautions are required when taking astrometeorological records on The Annals of the Joseon Dynasty for the basis of study. To discover supplements of the limitation, we need to pay attention to private diaries published by people in Joseon dynasty. Through combination of private diaries and data compiled by government, we could establish a great basis of paleoclimate study of the Korean Peninsula.
