Honey production from approximately 1.7 million colonies owned by around 25 thousand Korean beekeepers was almost 38 thousand M/T in 2010. Most Korean beekeepers have moved from southarea to north to get Acacia nectar on blossoming season of Acacia for two month. This event provided a valuable opportunity to sample bees originating from diverse areas in one location. The distribution patterns of black queen cell virus (BQCV), chronic bee paralysis virus (CBPV), deformed wing virus (DWV), israel acute paralysis virus (IAPV), Kashmir bee virus (KBV) and sacbrood virus (SBV)were investigated in 23 Korean beekeepers by employing reverse transcription-PCR in 2012. The most prevalent virus was BQCV, present in 87% of samples, followed by SBV with 73.9%. CBPV was detected in one beekeeper, while DWV, IAPV and KBV were not present in any sample. Infections of BQCV and SBV were simultaneously observed in most colonies.
