This study conducted a 12-week complex exercise program with obese middle-aged women and analyzed changes in body composition, body circumference, and C-reactive protein(CRP) which is an index of cardiovascular diseases by one-way repeated measure ANOVA. Finaly, the following results were obtained.
First, for body composition, while the multiple exercise group and the exercise group showed statistically significant difference in weight, %body fat, lean mass, and. BMI, there was no significant difference in the control group. Second, for body circumference, while the multiple exercise group and the exercise group showed statistically significant difference in waist circumference, hip circumference, and thigh circumference, there was no significant difference in the control group. Finally, for CRP, while the multiple exercise group and the exercise group showed significant difference, there was no significant difference in the control group. Based on this result, an exercise program greatly contributed to significant decreases in weight, %body fat, and BMI and significant increases in lean mass as the way to promote body activity in overweight middle-aged women. Body circumference and CRP also showed positive reactions. Since this study did not reveal clearly which exercise was more effective out of multiple exercises and single exercises, further researches should focus on more detailed and careful observation and composition. following.
