This study analyzed the effect of human capital indicators on the national economy growth by using indicators that could afford regional data among national human resource development indicators.
The purpose of this study is to test empirically the effect of human resource development on economic growth and propose the alternative plan for the continuing creation and use of indicators.
The numbers of NHRD indicators that could be used in regional unit by investigating indicators developed from preceding studies were 66. On the basis of investigation result, 43 variables that are able to continually use regional data from 1980 to 2005 were selected as proxies of human capital. From the result of empirical test to investigate the effect of human capital proxies on national economy growth, 33 variables were verified to have statistical significance as human capital.
Finally, this study proposed the continuing creation and use plan of RHRD indicators to analyze the competitiveness of human resource and to construct the supporting system for decision making related to RHRD policies.
