This study is to estimate the effective demand of people with disabilities who desire to participate in vocational training. The purpose of this study is to find ways, based on the demand, to expand vocational training participation of disabled people. For this, 9,500 persons among enrolled disabilities of Health & Welfare Ministry were surveyed, and disabilities who desire to participate in vocational training were classified as effective demand and potential demand for training.
The results are as follows: during the year 2010, persons with disabilities who desire to train were 51,000 people in approximately 3.4% of the unemployed. Among them, effective training demand was consisted of 8,851 persons accounted for 17.2 percent of the desired demand. When considering the number of disabilities receiving training from present training facilities, expansion of training facilities and an increase in expenses are expected to be inevitable.
