This paper analysized the formation and development of the Chinese parts of speech in Western Sinology in the 17~18th century, and found that the missionaries chose Latin model to describe the Chinese language. The westerns realized the principle of its structure was different from European languages,and this was the starting point of Western Sinology in the later 17th and 18th century. This paper chose two books about Chinese grammar to study,and found that the Chinese parts of speech concept of the early missionaries had been a sort of public knowledge of Western Sinology. It had also completed the construction of the Chinese parts of speech in Western Sinology by self-replicating process.
