As a way to improve productivity in construction industry, BIM(building Information Modeling) based on parametric method is being studied and applied recently. Structural BIM among BIM enable the flexible environment promptly by providing structural analysis and design, structural member modeling, generation of drawing, quantity takeoff ect in integrated environment. Current work process of steel structure applying structural BIM has been performed for main member except connection parts. However entire steel structure including the connection has a number of limitations. Integrated work process also, is utilized as limited result of steel main member generated structural analysis result and geometric data in structural analysis and design phase. Accordingly, Generation of Integrated information model including connection and integrated structural BIM process management are required through more research on generating analysis result of steel connection and connection design, detailed model etc. This study presented work process in each stage on steel connection based on structural BIM for follow-up work through auto generation of connection information model and efficient design of steel connection in design phase of steel structure, and proposed the integrated design system for executing work process. Furthermore a case study was performed by using the process in an actual project.
