Nowdays, It is not too much to say that China makes the most of education as means of development of nation and race.
Moreover, China intends to make all the people to patriots through the nationwide movements of patriotic education. In the situation, our approach to the China’s education, especially the education of history should be careful.
It is considered that we don’t have to be attached to the distortion of history connect with Korea in the textbooks.
Now, China is approaching to history education not as a school education but as a modernization of socialism and succession and development of tradition. Lately, China made and announced the demonstrational copy 〈History curriculum of compulsory education standard〉 that they have experimented for long into the revisional copy 〈History curriculum of compulsory education standard〉.
This revisional copy shows directly where the value of history education that China has pursued is. The revisional copy 〈History curriculum of compulsory education standard〉 has the following features comparing to the demonstrational copy in composition and description.
First, a goal that the curriculum content searches is expressed by direct and clear words.
Second, they prearranged the historical contents that the party and the government aim and generalized the historical facts.
Third, they applied the several historical projects to educational curriculum and tried to complete the greatness of Chinese culture and the discussion on united multiracial nation. That is to say, they completed the past historical reorganization for the current China in China’s angle.
We have to think how we should recognize the history education of Chiana, and how we cope with the admission of historical project related to Korean history. Korea and China maintain “strategic company” diplomatically, however China have gotten a big power, and North Korea relies on China in many ways.
In this situation that China has a strong right to speak about North Korea, the issue of racial identity is very important to Korea but not to China. And Being based on unified multi-nation theory, China’s historical project is the national strategy for their survival. So It is a solid fact that China never concede the problem of history among each(minority) race. And recently Chinese’ anti-Korean Sentiment becomes serious. In this situation our opinion and request about Chinese history education can’t evoke an echo. It’s time to work hard to prepare for countermeasure about a revolution of Chinese history education.
