Through the population dynamics, this paper approaches the social status of Koreans in Manchukuo while checking the validity of the previous data. Their status refuses simple categorization. The Koreans were peripheral minority who clustered around unsafe rural area and urban amusement quarters in the early period, and became partially represented in the secondary and tertiary sectors in the late period. However, after the outbreak of the Sino-Japanese War, there arose a stratum of Koreans in white collar and public sector positions due to the consideration by or the vacuum of Japanese rulers who were conscripted for the final stage of the Sino-Japanese War and the Pacific War. Furthermore, Koreans were visible and omnipresent in almost all the posts and job opportunities in Manchukuo. This conspicuity had the seed of the persecution by Chinese right after the demise of Manchukuo.
