In this study, I introduced the newly found old novel 〈Jang Gwan Gi Sa〉, and examined several characteristics of it. 〈Jang Gwan Gi Sa〉, a manuscript which is written in Korean alphabet, was recently found by professor Yang Seung Min. Because there are no documents that give notice of it, the existence of it has not been known up to now.
In a viewpoint of literary structure, 〈Jang Gwan Gi Sa〉 belongs to classical heroin-novel. But it reveals several differences as follows;
1. When the hero and heroin appear simultaneously in heroin-novels, it has symmetrical parallel structure generally. But 〈Jang Gwan Gi Sa〉 shows asymmetrical parallel structure.
2. In the life of hero, there are no narrative process of persecution, ordeal, rescue, fostering, and training. On the other side, tl1e life of heroin is in accord with it.
? 3. The heroin is reinstated in her former position as a woman, and follows thee feudal family system without any mental conflict. So, in the aspect of feminine cognition, 〈Jang Gwan Gi Sa〉 is faithful to the logic of patrilineal society.
