Cruise industry is one of the most dynamic tourism sectors worldwide, and the issue of how to revitalize cruise industry and domestic ports has been discussed frequently by relevant government organizations. Understanding cruise lines’ selection criteria for homeports and ports of call is crucial to revitalization of cruise industry. Furthermore considering that cruise ships, passengers and crews are income generators for the port ares they visit, it is important to provide several conditions for them to spend more money in the area. Therefore, several issues including cruise lines’ selection criteria for each type of ports, which were expected economic effects and value chain of cruise industry were discussed in this study. Additionally, it was continued to discuss the direction of future development of Pusan as Korea’s leading cruise port.
