The purpose of this study was to examine the relative risk of cardiovascular disease risk factors according to the level of obesity in adults. A total of 1,036 adults aged 30 to 69(male; 544, females; 492) were participated in this study. Blood pressure, serum lipid, fasting blood sugar, and atherogenic index were measured. SPSS statistical package program was used for analysis and computed Independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, and logistic regression. First, there was significant difference in their systolic & diastolic blood pressure, total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, triglyceride, fasting blood sugar, and atherogenic index by sex. Second, there was significant difference in the total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, fasting blood sugar, and atherogenic index in men while there was significant difference in the systolic & diastolic blood pressure, total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, triglyceride, fasting blood sugar, and atherogenic index in women by age. Third, the relative risk of systolic & diastolic blood pressure, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, triglyceride, fasting blood sugar, and atherogenic index increased significantly in men while that of systolic & diastolic blood pressure, total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, triglyceride, fasting blood sugar, and atherogenic index increased significantly in women by the level of obesity.
