Automobile interiors and the exterior decorations of mobile devices are considered as fashion items which represent one’s life style. In particular, analog patterned metal sheet receives considerable attention because of its potential for luxurious and emotional exterior design. Analog patterned metal sheet can be manufactured by roll-imprinting process. In this study, finite element analyses were conducted to predict the pressure distribution between the imprinting roll and the metal sheet. For reliable FE modeling, a method to determine the size of element was proposed and the usefulness of it was shown.
