Depending on contemporary architecture"s various ways of application, the expression of architectural surface serves as mediating architecture and urban space. This implies that it is not the innate meaning or symbolism of physical built environment as the constituent volume of architectural form and space, but the increase of various factors, information, change, and their relations, between which architectural surface can mediate, that makes the human and the city relate with architecture through the meanings generated between them, and the experiences generated there formulate more diverse places. In connection with the technical variety of architectural surface expression and the technological development, it effected not just visual satisfaction, but also the interactive state in which architectural surface as an interface communicates with urban space and stimulates human emotion. Besides, contemporary architecture negates the use of surface as dichotomic and distinctive border against extensive meaning, but strives for utilizing it as the medium of creating exchange and communication between the inside and the outside.
