The purpose of this study is to deduct influence factors by analyzing preference for public design to raise satisfactory level of user with differentiated identity of region. The study methods are as follows. First, understand application status of domestic and overseas public design after considering idea and meaning change of public design through related literatures and precent studies. Second, extract design factors for regional differentiation through precedent studies, and reclassify region resources that have an effect on this. Third, understand degree of necessity of public design for regional differentiation by targeting experts, and research the extracted design factors and application degree about regionality. Lastly, understand correlation of design factors and influence factors about regionality for each territory of public design based on the research contents, and analyze application degree between each other. The results of this study could confirm through high preference of experts that expression of public design using native color of region of historical and cultural resource, tangible and intangible cultural assets, natural monuments, and historical resources is effective for expressing differentiated image to the region. Through this, it is effective to actively use historical and cultural resources among regional resources for expression inherent identity of the region. Individual correlation of each design factor and regional resource could be found through results of this study, and this will be basic data for development direction of differentiated public design of the region.
