This study aimed at analyzing the effects of the revised architectural slant line restriction for daylight and the method of supplement to enhance the rationality of revised standard. The scope of study is limited to general building of 5 stories. In the result of analysis it was revealed the existing condition of daylight is comparatively poor. Daylight couldn’t be reached to the level of over the 3rd floor. Analysis of the illegal extension of balconies and affection of staircases were done also. 5th floor illegal extension of balcony was worst case of decrease in duration of daylight. This condition is still being kept in the revised standard also as character of daylight condition in buildings. In this study it was found that the daylight condition in revised standard became worse than previous standard, and the supplementary method to enhance the rationality of standard was to decrease the distance toward right north direction from 1.5m to 1.0m. Decreasing this distance made the building take daylight and more space in the south of the lot. In addition to this result, application of architectural slant line restriction for daylight to 1 side not 2 sides was more rational to form the building of regular shape with no decrease of duration of daylight. Therefore in this paper 1.0m distance toward right north direction and only 1 side application of architectural slant line restriction for daylight were suggested as a method to enhance the rationality of revised standard of architectural slant line restriction for daylight.
