The purpose of this study was to empirically analyze the relationship between exercise commitment and exercise addiction, as well as mental health, subjecting fitness club users. In order to achieve this purpose, a questionnaire was distributed to and collected from fitness club users in city P; a total of 261 copies were used in the actual analysis. The analysis for empirical study consisted of frequency analysis, reliability analysis, and exploratory factor analysis using SPSS 20.0, and confirmatory factor analysis and structure equation model analysis using LISREL8.5. Based on the summary of the results derived from the analysis, the implications of this study are as follows.
First of all, it showed that the exercise commitment of fitness club users have statically (+) significant impact on exercise addiction. Second, it showed that the exercise commitment of fitness club users have statically (-) significant impact on mental health. Third, it showed that the exercise commitment of fitness club users have significant impact on mental health.
To sum up, the exercise commitment of fitness club users plays a positive role in resolving mental health issues but excessive exercise commitment leads to exercise addiction, and such addiction can become a factor to wake mental health issues; thus, it is thought that fitness club users should perform a clear and appropriate level of exercise in order to clearly understand the purpose of their participation and obtain the effects of exercise suitable for their purpose.
