The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the self-identity on the attitude to the disabled for students who are majoring in social welfare, and is to examine the moderating effect of volunteer activity experience and activity length of the period. We have collected data in a questionnaire from 336 students who are majoring in social welfare in the universities in Gwangju Metropolitan City. The main results of the study can be summarized as follows. First, the self-identity has the influence on the attitude to the disabled in the positive(+) direction. Second, the volunteer activity experience and activity length of the period appear to have the moderating effect. Thus, we can say that the self-identity has the influence on the attitude to the disabled according to the volunteer activity. Based on these results, we have suggested both the theoretical and practical implications in relation with volunteer activity of students who are majoring in social welfare and for the increase of the welfare of the disabled.
