The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of video analysis on the skills learning of Taekwondo side kick and class satisfaction. Thirty elementary school students participated in experiment as subject, and were randomly assigned to one of the three groups; traditional class method group(A group), mixed group(B group: traditional class method+video analysis application method), and video analysis application group(C group). The task of this study was Taekwondo side kick to acquire research purpose. Subjects carried out the pre-test of side kick to inspect capability of side kick and class satisfaction scale. Subjects participated in the experiment program assigned to each group for two weeks, 40 minutes a day. In order to identify changes in side kicking skill according to experimental treatment condition, side kicking movement of subject were videotaped on the days of 1th(pilot test), 3th, 5th, 6th, 8th, and 10th of class. Class satisfaction of subjects was estimated after acquisition stage for two weeks. Subjects participated in the first retention test in 3 day after acquisition stage and tested the second retention in 1 week after the first retention test. The results were as followings. Firstly, there were significant differences in side kick level of every group in both acquisition and retention test(B>C>A). Secondly, analysis of class satisfaction revealed that B group and C group significantly increased, while A group had no significance change. These results suggested that class method of video analysis application could facilitate the learning of the Taekwondo side kick, and its effect could maximized when performed simultaneously in mixing traditional class method with video analysis method.
