The purpose of this study was to find the alternatives to feed the city, Seoul which is in a unstable situation of food provision due to shrinking agricultural sector in Korea and its dependence on imported food. In a micro way, this paper chose the urban farming as an architectural design solution to make a contribution for feeding the city. The site for the design experiment is Garak market, it is one of the biggest market in Seoul and the epicenter of food distribution. In this design experiment, with adding the urban farming function to the market, it will be not only a food distributor but also a food producer as a starting point to feed the city, Seoul in a self-sufficient way.
