We, living in a society more connected than any time, are bringing many changes to the part the individual can experience through a new flow of ‘sharing economy’. As starting to share something from the objects held in hand to car, house, office, and time and talent of a person with other persons, it becomes a manner to do an economical activity that is a big flow named ‘sharing economy’ and the worry about the ‘space’ is also meeting a new change from the movement giving more values to the ‘use’ than to ‘possession’.
Although it was not free from possessing for the movement means, we made a new user experience that had not existed with the concept of ‘sharing’. The change like car-sharing service or car pooling is also affecting the design on urban infrastructure. The culture of ‘sharing’ began to settle down in the life manner as well as trading, reusing, and lending the items, one of them is a new type of change to share or utilize the ‘space’. Now the change continues and we will be able to use the resource more effectively when the communication between the objects starts.
Due to the development of information communication, it is the time to work without the restriction of the place and time than anytime comparing with the past and the time when the business nomads were emerging. This movement brings about another big change called ‘coworking’. The flow of this change will be able to be observed in more various figures in the future. The social demands on the spaces of ‘sharing and collaboration’ to collaborate by coming together from various areas from the space for the creators to the space for founders, the space for manufacturers due to 3D printer and maker movement are increasing.
Although we can think of the philosophy on ‘sharing’ in planning a new space, we rather need to pay attention to the cases of foreign space sharing projects that inspire new life force while sharing the thrown urban space for the several purposes in terms of recycling existing resource or maximizing the value of hidden resource.
The philosophy of ‘sharing’ accounts for the important position in designing the city beyond the philosophy of a spatial design, we look at the project a successful entrepreneur conducts to make the downtown of Las Vegas, US tech-hub. He regards ‘collision’, ‘collaboration’, and ‘sharing’ as a creed and thinks “the innovation reversing the world naturally comes out while people meet, are pestered, sharing, and collaborating”.
The spaces based on the ‘sharing’ should be made much and they should perform their role fully. The example on the ‘sharing’ space in a flexible form that can collaborate naturally rather than just physically ‘open’ space will be needed. The interest of those who deal with the ‘space’ for the ‘space’ to fulfill its role beyond just physical ‘space’ is needed and I hope the movement to worry and collaborate with people from various areas will be made.
