The sea in between the countries of Korea, China, and Japan have been a gateway for connection. The sea that binds all three countries have given people, resources, and culture to flourish. In terms of this respect, I am sure that port cities such as Busan, Shanghai, and Fukuoka which are regionally interrelated in three countries have a very special meaning for prosperity and development of East Asia.
Globalization has caused us to emphasize network and governance. Networking has become a vital part of partnership. By looking at this perspective, Korea, China, and Japan must strive to achieve their goal of prosperity and development of East Asia.
EACC is an international program that allows students to gain a new experience by visiting three universities in the program, namely in Korea, China and Japan. In doing so, students will be able to gain a knowledge about the history, culture, economy, and the societal backgrounds of each country. It would be a great opportunity to have a chance for the students to experience the cultural differences during the summer vacation.
I think the founding of the EACC program is very meaningful to students of three countries. It will create more opportunities to foster new academic communities through various exchanges and communication.
I hope Shanghai Jiaotong, Seinan Gakuin, and Pukyung National Unversity will continue their interaction and bolster the East Asia"s prosperity and development through reciprocal academic cooperation.
