Modern industrial heritages just like an important heart containing the image and identity of cities should not be treated as a headache any more. Active recycling of such buildings can create unique, interesting and innovative space for modern service functions. In order to seek for ways to combine the past and present, instead of urban growth disconnected with the past, now studies on recyclability of domestic abandoned factories are valuable, and we should pay more attention to surrounding modern industrial buildings. In the results of researching domestic cases, we found economic, cultural, regional, symbolic and architectural significance of recycling from cases currently under way even though there are not many cases of recycling abandoned factories compared to the number of overall modern industrial heritage. Still, attempts to use new space continuously become the topic of conversation. Through researches on foreign cases, we should know the correct significance of recyclability. However, we should not take the existing foreign cases as a standard after simply considering recycling of industrial heritages as a trend. Instead, we should focus on the flow of the time, paradigm and what is really desired in this era. Just for the instant growth of cities, we should not forget the past containing our history. Researches on recyclability of modern industrial buildings should be continued in the future.
