according to data of air fine particles PM<SUB>2.5</SUB>, PM <SUB>10</SUB>, so₂ and no2 from 2007 to 2009 in Shenyang, Anshan ,Fushun and Benxi, the distribution characteristic of air fine particles and its impact on air quality were analyzed. The results indicated that air fine particles pollution in these cities is so serious that the yearly mean concentration has exceeded about 4 times than US yearly standard. The yearly concentrations of PM<SUB>10</SUB> and SO₂ are reduced, but yearly concentration of no2 is increased. Moreover, the concentrations of PM<SUB>2.5</SUB>, PM<SUB>10</SUB>, so₂ and no2 vary obviously with seasons. In winter, the concentration is the highest and the mean ratio of PM<SUB>2.5</SUB> and PM<SUB>10</SUB> are from 65% to 68%.However, the ratio in summer or in winter is the highest and the ratio in spring is the smallest. The correlation between air fine particles and API presents quadric multinomial or cubic multinomial in any season in 4 cities. The correlation of air fine particles and API has obvious correlation in different seasons, and the correlation of air fine particles and API in Spring is the worst than the other seasons. The correlation coefficient of air fine particles and API has obvious correlation in different grade of air quality in 4 cities .Of them, the correlation between air fine particles and API is the best when air quality is fine.
