Japanese Tanka as a traditional literary style has been a lyrical symbol of Japanese. Lee, Chung-Ja is a Tanka poet who has continued to work to inform Japanese society about the discrimination of Korean Japanese through Tanka. Lee, Chung-Ja is a Korean Japanese woman writer typical of Korean Japanese women who have had a tough life. She has written Tanka by mixing Japanese with her mother tongue, Korean; her Tanka is a means of expressing her ethnic identity. Her Tanka sings about Japanese social absurdities through the Japanese prosody, which may be uncomfortable for many Japanese. However, it is the history of Japanese Korean we must tell the Japanese about someday and the Japanese must learn and know. Her writings are the creation of new Japanese as an alternative culture. They can be a new vernacular form of Japanese literature. She has expressed through Tanka the social phenomenon Japanese society looks away from and sensibilities many Japanese have never felt. That is, in the prosody of 5.7. 5.7.7 traditional Japanese, she accuses Japan of inculcating the sorrow of "Zainichi". Her Tanka is not standard Japanese, but it is showing Tanka in a whole new light. With regard to poetry circles which are becoming conservative and growing old, her Tanka is a fresh stimulus, and this Tanka which is considered to respect diversity, represents the spirit of the age and makes Japanese Tanka more prosperous and rich.
