Recently ‘technological convergence’ has received high attention in social and economic fields as the driving force of new industrial growth and technological innovations. However, there are few studies on the overview of technological convergence trend and its comparison between global and national level. Using the method of citation analysis research, we examined the interdisciplinary distribution of BT·NT·IT diffusion and convergence during the 2000-2010 periods. We conclude that the volume of BT·NT·IT convergence performances have been increasing both in Korea and at the global level. However, BT·NT·IT diffusion and convergence in Korea tend to be concentrated around the relatively similar research fields in comparison to the global trend. Implying that, the Korean government’s policies to combine BT·NT·IT with diverse research fields are required.
