This study investigates whether work schedules in Korea have moved away from 9 to 6 standard schedule toward more flexible schedules. We apply optimal matching and cluster analysis to time use diary data collected every five year from 1990 to 2010. We distinguish ten to twelve types of work schedule for each year, and compare them over time. Analysis results show that dominance of standard work schedule is not weakened and part time schedule is not increasing. Overall the results suggest that work schedules in Korea have not changed much. Our overall findings are consistent with the findings from other European countries such as France and Belgium.
