A Collaboration Hub has been developed by authors’ research group to provide small and medium manufacturing enterprises (SMMEs) with an online collaboration space. This study proposes a method to intuitively represent the collaborative business process (cBP) defined by the SMMEs participating in a value chain and develops some execution technologies to overcome dynamic changes of manufacturing environment flexibly. Here, the process data analyzed and stored through cBP are used to extract the updated cBP. We are also developing the BOM (bill-of-material)-based product data management (PDM) system, called BOM Navigator®, because the BOM, the consistent structure representing product information plays an important role in the product development process among SMMEs. Recently, a business process management (BPM) system has been employed as a means to integrate legacy systems of enterprises. In this study, the cBP is used as the backbone to integrate with the BOM Navigator and existing information systems. As the evolution feature of the Collaboration Hub, this study has developed Collaboration Hub 2.0 which systematically manages CBPs integrating with BOM Navigator and legacy systems. The Collaboration Hub 2.0 will be launched in the near future to reinforce the collaboration among SMMEs.
