The purpose of this paper is to explore the developmental direction of religious studies. Previous papers were focused on humanities. It is very important. However, in a practical point of view, to expand the outer edge of religious studies is required. I proposed that definition of religion should be expanded flexibly. That is, it not adhering to the holy but should be expanded flexibly. From this viewpoint, I reviewed some papers. These researchers insisted to move away from exclusive research methods and suggested multidisciplinary studies, subject to technical changes.
This paper noted that identification of religious studies in Korea can be achieved through which not uniqueness but communication and convergence. It prompts challenge and changes. As a results, I focused on practical use of religious studies. Examples were presented to the following: ritual cultural industry, religious tourism, healing meditation tourism. This allowed I tried to find practical ways in religious studies.
