Rev. Bong Seok Choi(최봉석), well known as Kwon Neung Choi(최권능), was a legendary figure in the Korean church history. “Jesus Heaven, Unbelief Hell”(Yesoo Chundang, Boolsin Jiok) was the key factor of the Gospel he, being filled with the passion of saving souls, had proclaimed in his lifetime. As a missionary to Khando, an evangelist to remote mountain villages, a servant with spiritual power, and a leading figure against Shinto nationalism he left a significant mark in Korean church history. Nonetheless, Rev. Bong Seok Choi seems to be one of the persons who have not proper evaluation. There has been little to no academic/historical research or writing and book into his life and thought. In this article I try to evaluate Rev. Bong Seok Choi from Korean church historian perspective; for this I examine his life/works and present his four main footprints and contributions in mission, evangelism, performing miracles, and anti-shintoism. In a word, Rev. Bong Seok Choi left indelible imprints on the Korean Church.
