Daegu city has a special feature that economic indexes on "the quantity of life" is worse than other major cities in Korea but "the quality of life" is good as national core city which is called the environmental city, educational city, and cultural city. Daegu city pay attention only to improving lower economic indexes, but has been indifferent to assessment and improvement of the quality of life. In these context, this paper made "residential happiness index" of the quality of life in Daegu city from "the social survey of Daegu city". Then it analyzes the quality of life in Daegu city and suggest plans to improve the quality of life. The followings are the main results of analysis. First, index of employee is higher than that of unemployed person. Second, the index is proportional to income and level of education. Third, the index of married person is less than that of unmarried person. Forth, the index of forties are lowest in all ages. Fifth, there is a large gap among district indexes in the city.
