The aim of this study was to examine vocabulary use in speaking and writing using materials that included actual examples of written and spoken languages. In addition, another aim was to describe the distinctions and characteristics of the use of Korean conjunctive adverbs based on spoken and written registers.
The first thing to do when describing grammatical phenomena is to examine materials that include actual examples of a language where the grammatical phenomena occur. Description of grammatical phenomena based on the observation of the actual use of a language will greatly help people understand the real overall system of the language.
In a study on a language based on materials about actual language use, the estimated results of a corpus can be a basis for gaining objectivity while explaining the results of the research on the language. For the estimated results to obtain grammatical values, it is important to describe language use patterns shown in the registers that include linguistic forms in the results.
