The purpose of this study is to develop local residents" expectation scale according to holding sports events. The conclusions of this study are as follows. This study classified local residents" expectation scale according to holding sports events into 3 sub-factors, including regional development, resident change, and sports utilization.
First, regional development factor was composed of 7 items, including the expectation that the land mark of host regions will occur, the expectation that the economy of host regions will be activated, the expectation that the international exchange of host regions will be promoted, the expectation that economic growth and development will be promoted in host neighboring regions, the expectation that famous sites will occur and will be publicized in host regions, the expectation that host regions will be changed into sports mecca cities, and the expectation that host regions will be established as national main regions. Second, resident change factor was composed of 3 items, including the expectation that host local residents" harmony and integration will be performed, the expectation that host local residents" belonging sens will be inspired, and the expectation that host local residents" self-esteem will be inspired. Third, sports utilization factor was composed of 2 items, including the expectation that physical education-related facilities will be ensured and increased in host regions and the expectation that local residents" leisure and welfare facilities will be provided after holding.
