The purpose of this study was to analyze kinematic factors of the Ray that is an uneven parallel bar skill in gymnastics. For this study, four national woman gymnasts participated in this experiment and they were divided into two groups (skilled and less skilled group) by means of performance scores. The two digital video cameras (Sony, PD-150) were used to record motions, and Kwon3D 3.1 was used to process data and analyze factors. The results were as follows: First, in down swing phase the width of swing for Skilled Group (SG) was greater than Less skilled group LG), that is, a vertical velocity in upward swing increased, and the Cog of SG was greater than LG at a release, that is, SG secured a maximum height at an air phase. Second, at an air phase and a landing, horizontal displacement of SG was less than LG, but vertical displacement of SG was greater than LG. This means that SG secured a maximum height with a body projecting, but LG landed at near a bar with body projecting ahead. Third, at release, SG represented a rapid vertical velocity and a large shoulder joint angle which was staple factors with a body rising upward made a body stable landing to compare with the LG, but LG did the opposite results. In conclusion, using rotation gained with a wide down swing at release, SG made extension of shoulder joint, a high vertical position and rapid velocity. Therefore increasing an air position made a good air rotation and stable landing.
