This study has the aim of investigation about differences of psychosocial and family environmental characteristics of sport talented children and non talented children. Because researches dealing with psychosocial characteristics of sport talented children are relatively insufficient, this study analysed psychosocial and family environmental characteristics of sport talented children. The data came from the survey which was done by 111 sport talented children who selected through the series of procedures at the 2010 NEST and their parents and 126 ordinary children in elementary school located in Seoul and Kyung-gi area and also their parents as control group. The results show that sport talented children have more positive characteristics in self-esteem, self-control, stress, depression, aggression and peer-relationship than control group and the differences are significant statistically. Moreover parent-child relationship, parents` monitoring, parents` rearing attitude and level of family intimacy are more positive for the sport talented children. In conclusion, various practical implication and policy were discussed.
