This study was conducted to investigate the biomechanical charateristics of B-quick in the volleyball spiking to improve the technique of the volleyball spike. The subjects were six male college and high school athletes. The motions of volleyball spike were filmed by using two Panasonic D-5100 S-VHS Video Cameras. The mechanical factors were angle and angular velocity of body segments in the upper limbs and the lower limbs. The conclusions were as follows; 1. The skilled showed larger than the unskilled in angle of the shoulder joint on impacting in B Quick-Spike. 2. The skilled showed larger than the unskilled in angle of the elbow joint on impacting in B Quick-Spike. 3. The skilled showed smaller than the unskilled in angle of the wrist joint on impacting in B Quick-Spike. 4. The skilled showed larger than the unskilled in angle of the hip joint on all phase in B Quick-Spike. 5. The skilled showed larger than the unskilled in angle of the knee joint on getting take-off in B Quick-Spike, and similar on getting pretouchdown. 6. The skilled showed larger than the unskilled in angle of the ankle joint on getting take-off in B Quick-Spike. 7. The skilled showed faster than the unskilled in angular velocity of the shoulder joint, elbow joint, wrist joint on on impacting in B Quick-Spike. As the result of them, in order to performance effective B quick-spike in volleyball, Angle of the knee joint on getting touchdown must be decrease and must be Angle of the knee joint on getting take-off must be increased, For stable take offing small angle of the knee joint on getting touchdown and take off and C.O.G of the arm and hand have to be maintained positioned front C.O.G of the body, the elbow joint have to be stretched and the angle of the wrist joint have to be decrease, and Angle of the hip joint and shoulder joint on on impacting must be increased.
