Transportation machines filed to the required weight of aluminum alloys and steel alloys to replace studies are being made of magnesium alloy. Magnesium alloy has excellent specific strength, vibration damping and electromagnetic shielding capability, is increasingly being used in automobile body parts in order to reduce carbonn emissions and increase energy efficiency through reduction of weight. However, magnesium has a low formability at room temperature owing to its strong plastic anisotropy of tension and compression. The application of magnesium alloy can reduce the weight of a control arm, which is a complex-shaped suspension system part in a vehicle. In this paper, the control arm, was warm forged using extruded AZ80. Warm forging was carried out at 250 to 350˚C. Control arm was evaluated microstructure and mechanical properties.
