The purpose of this study was to examine the causal relationship among trust in instructor, self-management, psychological skills, and recognized athletic performance of softball players. Softball players of middle school, high school, university, and professional teams were selected for the survey. For the collection and analysis of data, purposed sampling was carried out on a total of 311 players who competed in the 2014 presidential cup tournament of the softball association. For data processing, SPSS 18.0 and Amos 20.0 programs were used to verify the hypothesis. α=.05 was set for the level of significance to be analyzed according to the following methods. The results of the study are as follows: Trust in instructor had a static effect on self-management, self-management had a static effect on psychological skills and recognized athletic performance, and psychological skills had a static effect on recognized athletic performance. Self-management and psychological skills were statistically significant parameters in the relationship between trust in instructor and recognized athletic performance. In summary, this study should make up the fact that there is not sufficient application of diverse variables related to sports psychology to softball players, and make a case that trust in instructor is formed the first for enhancement of athletic performance of softball players.
