Motion control system is a key element of industrial automation. Companies can improve productivity with analysis of process and moreover prevent all sorts of disasters and accidents via real-time monitoring of such a system. Remote monitoring over wireless communication link is an advanced way to get higher mobility compared to the existing monitoring tools that are used in fixed place. In addition, the proliferation of general mobile devices including smart phones enables us to design and implement remote monitoring systems at low cost. In this paper, we design and implement a remote monitoring system for motion control system using Android-based mobile devices. By using our remote monitoring system, users can monitor essential information of motion control and control it on a mobile device with a simple an intuitive user interface anytime, anywhere.
