A wife’s mother song, a son-in-law song and one’s 60th birthday song spread in the southern part and similar with a singer, singing situation and aim. In this article analyzed lyrics composition of these songs. Since we discussed connection with a daughter-in-law song and child care song.
There are two type of wife’s mother song. One type consist of a action description of the wife’s mother and amusement solicitors. The other type are made up pleasure solicitors and a promise to the bright future. When the whole family gathers including a son-in-law, This song sung by wife’s mother. Because a wife’s mother change the position of a son-in-law, the amusement of this song more increasing. Because the aim and singer something that resembles the type of a son-in-law song similar with a wife’s mother song. This songs underlie mother’s wish that daughter’s married life will be good equally.
When open a banquet on one’s 60th birthday, in order to be lighthearted and celebrates characters sing a his 60th birthday song. By enumerate family members singers felt pride which she lived in affluence. The feature of this song to express look back upon her old days.
There is an extension in a wife’s mother song, a son-in-law song, one’s 60th birthday song, a daughter-in-law song and child care song. First, in order to cure the pain as a marginal man singers enumerate her family members in her 60th birthday song. Singers sing their perception of reality in a songs. A cradle song and a son-in-law song share the singer’s consciousness and their hope to the subject of song who baby and a son-in-law. So, when mother who sing a cradle song became a wife’s mother, she could sing a son-in-law song. In short, songs which express joy of life in a banquet is as good as the order of their lives.

본고에서는 영ㆍ호남지역을 중심으로 충청, 경기지역에 걸쳐 분포하면서, 가창자 및 구연 상황, 목적 등이 공유되는 장모노래, 사위노래, 그리고 환갑노래를 사설 구성을 중심으로 분석한 뒤 이 노래들을 시집살이노래 및 육아노동요와의 관계를 중심으로 살펴보았다. 먼저, 장모노래는 장모 행동 묘사와 유흥 권유로 구성된 것과 대접을 잘 받으니 기분 좋고, 앞으로 잘 살겠다는 사위의 다짐으로 마무리되는 형태가 있다. 이 노래는 사위를 포함한 온 가족이 모인 자리에서 실제 장모가 사위의 목소리를 빌려 노래하는 것만으로도 유희성이 확보되었다. 사위노래는 장모가 사위를 맞이하니 기분이 좋다는 형태와 앞으로 잘 살라는 사위에 대한 당부가 노래된 형태가 있다. 이 두 노래에는 공통적으로 딸의 결혼생활이 순탄하기를 비는 어머니의 바람이 깔려 있다.
환갑을 맞은 이는 가족 구성원을 나열하면서 유흥을 고조시키기 위한 목적으로 환갑노래를 불렀다. 가창자는 이 노래를 통해 자신이 집안의 중심이 된 것을 확인하고 잔치에 모인 이들에게 유흥을 독려하였다. 환갑노래는 다양한 유흥 관련 사설 속에서도 자신의 삶에 대한 관조가 노래된 것이 특징이었다.
장모ㆍ사위노래, 환갑노래는 가창자들이 살아오면서 불렀던 시집살이노래 및 육아노동요의 연장선상에 있다. 먼저, 시집살이 때 겪은 주변인으로의 고통을 치유하기 위해 가창자들은 환갑노래에 가족 구성원을 일일이 나열하게 되었다. 아기 재우는 소리와 사위노래를 비교 검토한 결과, 노래 속 대상인 아기 및 사위에 대한 가창자의 의식, 그리고 그들에 대한 바람이 공유되었다. 그런 이유로 아기 재우는 소리를 불렀던 어머니가 뒤에 장모가 되어 사위노래를 부르게 된 것으로 이해하였다.
시집살이노래는 동류집단, 육아노동요는 아이와 가창자만이 있는 공간 중심으로 노래되었다면 장모?사위노래는 가족단위 잔치, 환갑노래는 마을단위 잔치로 구연 공간 및 정서 공유 단위가 확장되었다. 구연 공간 및 정서 공유 단위의 면에서 여성의 가정 내 위치와 그에 따른 노래가 밀접한 관계가 있는 것이다. 장모?사위노래, 그리고 환갑노래 가창자들은 시집살이노래 및 육아노동요의 연장선상에서 이 노래를 부르면서 딸의 행복 혹은 그간 겪은 고생을 치하하였다.
