This paper introduces a detailed experimental study of face detection based on skin color has been made. This approach detects faces regardless of the background of the image or video which is most important for the face identification in a image or video.
In this approach, two color spaces YCbCr and HSI are the main concern. We have compared the algorithms based on this color space and then we can get a new skin color based on face detection algorithm and then apply erosion and dilation methods to remove noise in the image Image or video. Finally we can labeling method to detect faces. Experimental result shows the proposed algorithm is good enough to localize human face in an image or video.
