In order to realize the individual control and monitoring in airfield light systems, due to high installation and maintenance cost for the additional control line, PLC(power line communication) technology was applied and adopted for controlling Airfield light. The ILCMS(Individual Light Control and Monitoring System) is suitable for individual switching and monitoring of airfield lighting in order to meet latest ICAO(International Civil Aviation Organization) and FAA(Federal Aviation Authority) recommendations, to enhance safety of aircraft ground movement in aerodrome and to built up the basis for an A-SMGCS(Advanced Surface Movement Guidance and Control System).
In this paper, this is the method of remote firmware upgrade for individual light controller in airport ILCMS system.
