The purpose of this study was to analyze the types of pre-service English teachers’ classroom English in their teaching demonstrations, and examine their lesson plans in terms of the procedures and steps of the lesson plan they used for those teaching demonstrations. Four pre-service English teachers majoring in English education participated in this study. They demonstrated their demonstrations exclusively in English for approximately 20 minutes with other pre-service English teachers. Before demonstrating their teaching, they submitted lesson plans. Their demonstrations were video-recorded and fully transcribed, and lesson plans were thoroughly analyzed. Here, content analysis involved classifying data and making sense of the data collected and to highlight the findings. According to the results of data analysis, it indicated that pre-service English teachers tended to follow a very similar instructional procedure over all, while each pre-service teacher included different instructional activities for each procedure. However, it is discovered that they sometimes used inaccurate English during the demonstration. Based on the data analysis, the current study makes its suggestions from the pedagogical perspective of English teacher’s qualification in the Korean EFL situation.
