This paper examines women’s writing and experience of novels written by Virginia Woolf and Park, Wan-seo. There is an affinity between the two writers in that their works giving us the subversive deconstruction of male-dominated society. In other words, it is note worthy that feminine writing of their novels works as an effective way of exploring subjective self of an woman, based on female experiences. Borrowing from Gilles Deleuze who has a critical point of view that minoritarian, women, and the other can deconstruct male-dominated society by breaking boundaries.
It is important to note that Woolf and Park, Wan-seo represent the deconstruction of male-dominated society and horizontal relationship as a meaning of open possibility to them. Woolf performs ‘the androgyny’ as a possibility to be able to think across line of gender and boundaries, while Park, Wan-seo emphasizes the value of female identification against male-dominated society. In the world of Woolf’s androgyny man and woman are not classified into rank. Woolf’s androgyny can be said to be a story of harmonized androgynous spirit between male and female traits. Female language is silence, monologue or sometimes derangement due to endured expression of consciousness in male-dominated societies. It is hard for women to be aware of their identity and live subjectively from oppression.
