This study aims to define dialog typological concept of the physicians’ morning conferences and to analyze dialog sequences. Toward these ends, a theoretical review is conducted and a dialog analysis methodology was used. Morning conferences consisted of the ‘morning report’ and ‘inpatient briefing’. The morning report is a education dialog which is carried out for educating physicians. Inpatient briefing is a job dialog for performing medical practice. This study focused on an aspect of dialog development of the morning report which was the core type in the morning conferences. The morning report was developed in the manner of physicians’ presenting about the patients’ information and followed by 11 types of professor’s reaction. The predominant type was the ‘instruction - acception’ in which a professor would give medical information to residents or interns. And second type was the ‘educator question - answer’ in which a professor gets residents or interns to generate medical knowledge for themselves. The characteristics of education dialog in the morning conferences were excessive professor-oriented instructions and passive learning attitudes of residents or interns. The results of this study provide better understanding of the physicians’ morning conferences communication and are to be helpful to communicate effectively in the morning conferences.
