This study aims to search the role, playing of regional channel as analyzing channel operation and programming such as programming rate, original airing rate, rerun airing rate and programming rate which is made by the type of producer of 7 SOs in North and South of Chungcheong Province. As the research findings, in the aspect of original airing rate and rerun airing rate the former is decreased, the latter is increased. In the programming rate by genre, most of regional channel of SOs provide the regional audience with region-closed contents through the living information. Also these SOs increase the educational programs and entertainment programs. In the aspect of programming rate which is made by type of producer, ‘CJ hello chungnam broadcaster’ produced by their own production system. Average rate for 3 years is 71.4%. It was highest one among 7 SOs. ‘Tbroad jungbu broadcaster’ showed highest rate as 44.4% in the outsourcing production. ‘CJ hello chungnam’ showed the highest rate in the sapect of the programming of audience driven program. These results suggest that the SOs produce their programs in partnership with Chungnam based independent production to develop the broadcasting industry and the regional government supports financial stability to produce region based contents and public and educational contents.
