The given studies about children` play in elementary school have partly been treated and we can not find comparative studies dealing with playing conditions between regions. So the purpose of this study is to survey the condition of chilrens`s play by gender, grade, and region. Survey is to target 4,5,6 grades stidents(300 persons) in two elementary school(located in Seoul and Namyangju-gun). The result of this study is summarized as follows. The boys in two regions like to play soccer and the girls like to play batminton the best. The soccer is the represent active sport in the boy`s game that we think. We can say that in favorite play, they like to take bicycle the best and they like to play rollerscate the second. Most of children play with 2-3 their friends. Urban and rural children usually play in a bystreet, the sides of street and their houses. The boys play in the neighbourhoods and their school and girls generally play in the neigbours and their houses. From this results, we can infer that there is difference between urban and rural. It is for regional conditions and home backgrounds etc.
